The One Piece live-action series is only 30 days away from its premiere and Netflix is making sure that everyone is hyped up for the upcoming show. A new poster for the new adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga has just been dropped. Not surprisingly, it puts the focus on the Straw Hats Pirates and their Jolly Roger.
We already met the Straw Hats Pirates in the teaser and official trailer for One Piece. There was also a glimpse at their Jolly Roger which captures their youthful exuberance and trademark hat. But now, fans can finally get a closer look at the unique pirate flag.
The official account for the One Piece Netflix series has shared the new poster featuring Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. The crew proudly stands in front of the Straw Hats Pirates' Jolly Rogers which is shown behind them.
It is a cool poster considering that the first image of the crew showed them with their backs toward the camera. Needless to say, it's great to see them all together in an official poster.
Who are The Straw Hats in One Piece?
The Straw Hats Pirates was started by Monkey D. Luffy in pursuit of his dream to become the world's greatest pirate. His first recruit was the bounty-hunting swordsman Roronoa Zoro who he encounters at a Marine base in Shells Town. They are later joined by Nami and Usopp before Sanji agrees to leave Baratie to be part of the crew. Although they started out in East Blue, the Straw Hats decided to cross the Grand Line to fulfill their own individual dreams.
But a pirate crew with only five members? This is only the beginning for the Straw Hats. We are only meeting the first members in Season 1 and there is little doubt that future crew members will be introduced really soon. With that in mind, we can't wait to meet the Straw Hats this August.
The live-action adaptation will feature Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. This crew might be small but they are set for truly greater things in their journey to reach their dreams. Watch them in action when One Piece premieres on Netflix on August 31, 2023.
