Giancarlo Esposito has already played several memorable roles in numerous franchises but it looks like he has his eye on another one. The Mandalorian star recently revealed that he has already spoken to James Gunn and expressed his desire to join the DC Universe!

Esposito recently made an appearance at Comic-Con Panama where he spoke about his future plans (via X). Amazingly, the Breaking Bad actor admitted that he had been communicating with DCU boss James Gunn about appearing in an upcoming film.

"I have been talking to James Gunn about the possibility of being in a movie – so who knows?" Esposito said.

Who could Giancarlo Esposito play in the DCU?

It's an exciting update that immediately had fans speculating about Esposito's possible role in the DCU. But which comic book hero (or villain) will the Better Call Saul actor portray? There are speculations that he might make an appearance in the highly anticipated Superman prequel Superman: Legacy. After all, Esposito already provided the voice of Lex Luthor in the animated series Harley Quinn. It would only make sense that he gets the chance to play the villain in the live-action film.

That's not the only role that Esposito could take on. The Maze Runner: The Death Cure star would be perfect for virtually any DC villain we could think of. From Brainiac to Mr. Freeze, the possibilities are endless for the star. Some even believe he could be the perfect choice to play Martian Manhunter if the character is recast in the DCU.

For now, DC Studios has not made an official statement about Esposito's casting. Nevertheless, we're hoping that there will be an official announcement before the end of the year. Make sure to check this page for new updates.
