After finally visiting home and seeing her old folk, Maomao will return to the Imperial Palace in The Apothecary Diaries Episode 8. However, the pharmacist will be welcomed by a big problem that she once again needs to solve. The anime has released the official preview for the next episode and reveals the surprising deaths in the Imperial Court that nobody expected. You can see the trailer below:
The preview begins with Maomao rushing to a room, following a child in front of her. As the commotion starts, two people are seen lying lifeless on a bed while being checked by a woman. As no one knows why or who’s behind these shocking deaths, several sticks are found in the scene.
Maomao’s adopted father, Luomen, then appears on the scene, seemingly consoling his daughter as he taps her head. The next sequence shows the woman who has found the lifeless bodies on the bed, looking mad and appearing to be yelling at someone. An older woman then takes the scene with Maomao, who later starts investigating the deaths and finds a pipe and cigar leaves scattered on the floor.
What to expect from The Apothecary Diaries Episode 8?
Based on the trailer, The Apothecary Diaries Episode 8, titled Wheat Stalks, will see Maomao investigating the surprising deaths in the palace. It remains to be seen if someone killed the victims or if this will be another case of poisoning in the palazzo after what happened to Lishu in the previous episode.
Fans will also see a sulking Jinshi when Maomao returns to the Imperial Palace. As the eunuch has no idea that Maomao went home amid the problems they're facing one after another, the reunion between these two is a must-see.
