Taylor Swift Promotes Deadpool & Wolverine, Praises Hugh Jackman & Trolls Ryan Reynolds

Amid the cameo rumors, Taylor Swift does her part in Deadpool & Wolverine by promoting it to her 283 million followers on Instagram.

Taylor Swift has long been rumored to appear as Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine. Though lead star Ryan Reynolds played coy about it, a reputable publication had denied the claims. However, fans are still convinced that the pop giant will still appear in the threequel in one way or another. So, to do her part in the movie, Swift promotes Deadpool & Wolverine instead and praises Hugh Jackman while trolling Ryan Reynolds.

In a post on her Instagram Story, Swift shared a photo with the Deadpool stars Jackman and Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, alongside Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively. In a lengthy note, she talked about “one of my best friends,” recalling watching him pouring every bit of his “heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, joke, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic” into his film over the past few years. But as many would think she was referring to Reynolds, who she has been friends with for years, she went on to mention Jackman’s name.

“He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it,” she wrote. “But that’s just Hugh for you!”

The renowned singer-songwriter then trolled Reynolds and Lively, adding other “randoms” just crashed the photo, and they were too polite to ask them to leave. From there, the pop superstar promoted Deadpool & Wolverine and even added a link where fans could buy tickets if they liked things “unspeakably awesome.” However, she still couldn’t help herself and gave a shout-out to Reynolds.

“Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!” she continued.

Ryan Reynolds Addresses Taylor Swift’s Rumored Cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine

The rumors about Swift’s cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine ran wild after she was seen with Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy at the Kansas City Chiefs-New York Jets game during week four of the 2023 NFL season at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in October 2023. The claims even got stronger when the movie’s IMAX poster featured the titular characters wearing friendship bracelets, which started to trend after fans created them to swap with each other at the Eras Tour. However, to clear things up "once and for all," Reynolds finally addressed her rumored appearance in an interview with E! News.

“I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor because she’s our friend—that is not in this film,” he said.

Though he denied her cameo in the movie, he added that she would be a good replacement for him if he decided to pass on the role to someone else. He went on to note that the 34-year-old possessed a superpower that many didn't know about, being “one of the funniest people” he had ever met.

The closeness Reynolds and Swift share makes fans convinced that the latter will have a part in Deadpool & Wolverine. Her All Too Well music video was filmed at Reynolds and Lively’s home, while the actor also appeared in her You Need to Calm Down music video. Though it remains to be seen if this will happen, this mystery will be finally solved as Deadpool & Wolverine will finally hit theaters on Friday, July 26.
