Less than a month before Sweet Home Season 2’s release, Netflix has been hyping up the series’ return three years after the previous season ended. After dropping a new trailer at the recent Geeked Week 2023 virtual event, the streamer has now dropped a new set of preview stills featuring the lead star Song Kang as Cha Hyun Soo, the Green Home survivors, and a new character. And by the looks of it, they’re fighting their own struggles as they try to survive after leaving the monster-infested apartment.

The first Sweet Home Season 2 stills feature Hyun Soo as he seems to struggle at the Special Disaster Base, where he may become a test subject and be experimented on, and Pyeon Sang Wook (Lee Jin Wook) after being possessed by Jung Ui Myung (Kim Sung Cheol), who strongly believes that transforming everyone into a monster will be the only hope to save humanity.

Next is the terrified Seo Yi Kyung (Lee Si Young) as she continuously fights to find her husband, and Lee Eun Yoo (Go Min Si) showing her bloody and bruised hand as she looks for her brother, Eun Hyuk (Lee Do Hyun), who remains to be seen if he’s already dead or still alive. Private Park Chan Young (Jung Jinyoung) is also seen ready to fight as he holds his weapon and points it at something.

Sergeant Tak In Hwan (Yoo Oh Sung) is all ready to lead as the cool-headed leader of the Special Forces Guard as he bravely goes out to fulfill their mission to fight the monsters in Sweet Home Season 2. A glimpse of Dr. Lim (Oh Jung Se) is also revealed as he continues his research about monsterization and vaccines and conducts all the experiments he knows.

In addition, Sergeant Kim Young Hoo (Kim Moo Yeol), a former UDT officer who helps In Hwan in keeping the people safe, is also seen in the preview. Like In Hwan, he bravely leads a group of soldiers at his back. And for the final still, a mysterious young woman (Kim Si Ah) is introduced, and she’s believed to possess great abilities. Will she be an ally or another villain?

Meanwhile, aside from the preview stills, Netflix has also released Sweet Home Season 2 character posters. Of course, it gives a good look at the enigmatic roles of Song Kang and Lee Jin Wook, set against the backdrop of the city ruined by the monsters. It also features the key art of the characters of Lee Si Young, Go Min Si, Jung Jinyoung, Yoo Oh Sung, Oh Jung Se, Kim Moo Yeol, and the mysterious role of Kim Si Ah.

What is Sweet Home Season 2 about?

Sweet Home Season 2 will continue where the previous season left off. Hyun Soo and the other Green Home survivors must now survive in the real world—away from the apartment—as the monsters are now worldwide. Based on the webtoon of the same name written by Kim Carnby and illustrated by Hwang Young Chan, series director Lee Eung Bok revealed that the new season would expand from the original story.

With the help of Carnby, Young Chan wanted to explore the hidden premises of the webtoon and develop a world-building this time. And as he teased, the new season would become a full-blown apocalyptic drama series.
