Song Kang is back as the human monster Cha Hyun Soo in Sweet Home Season 2. After being abducted by Jung Ui-Myeong (Kim Sung Cheol), who transformed into Pyeon Sang Wook (Lee Jin Uk), in the first season, the second season’s trailer shows what happens since then as a much-chaotic fight between humans and monsters begins.

The preview begins with a broken clock ticking while a man’s voice can be heard in the background, asking, “So what are you now? Are you a human or a monster?” as a montage of scenes plays. A close-up scene of Hyun Soo’s dark eyes is seen as the intense music continues.

“We’re not here because of luck or skills. We barely survived through others’ sacrifices,” a woman says. From there, a bloody Hyun Soo appears, with a collar chain on his neck, and inside a metallic cage while being escorted by a group of armed security. The teaser then shows the monsters have already invaded not just Green Home but the entire world. People now have to survive in a new place while new monsters appear.

As the soldiers prepare for a big fight against the monsters, one officer declares to “kill any monster on sight to stop the crisis.” Knowing how bad the situation has become, Hyun Soo asks a man who seems to be a scientist if he can develop a vaccine with his help. As they begin, this guy warns Hyun Soo that he will probably beg for his death with the things he’s about to do with him.

What is Sweet Home Season 2 about?

Based on the trailer, Sweet Home Season 2 may continue where the first season left off. Hyun Soo has been brought to a mysterious facility, where he may probably be experimented. The monsters, too, have rapidly dominated all over the world, so fans can expect more chaos is about to happen here.

Based on the webtoon of the same name written by Kim Carnby with illustrations by Hwang Young Chan, the second season will expand from its original story. Series director Lee Eung Bok consulted the series’ creator about the hidden premises in the original webtoon and to develop its world-building in the second installment.

He teased that Sweet Home Season 2 would turn into a full-blown apocalyptic drama this time. If the first season only featured the fight within the premise of Green Home, the second season would take place in an “open area” and introduce a slew of new characters and monsters.
