Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 continuously stuns viewers with big revelations and reunions in the galaxy, far, far away. As many await to know the future of Omega now that Dr. Royce Hemlock knows her importance in Project Necromancer, there’s one character waiting to be seen—Asajj Ventress. Before the final season begins, its official trailer teased the return of Asajj to the franchise after her last appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 and apparent death in the 2015 novel Star Wars: Dark Disciple. However, it looks like it will only begin her much-anticipated comeback after the character’s voice actress, Nika Futterman, teases it’s “just an appetizer” for what’s to come.

During her appearance at the recent Planet Comicon KC, X (formerly Twitter) user @drunkwooky talked to Futterman and asked about Asajj’s return to The Bad Batch Season 3. Though she revealed that it would be “very exciting,” she later hinted that the cameo was just a taste of a bigger future for the Sith assassin.

“It's all very exciting,” she said. “But The Bad Batch is just an appetizer for what's to come.”

That said, the fan couldn’t hide their excitement and asked if a new animated series centering on Asajj would soon come after The Bad Batch Season 3. Though nothing is known about it yet, this supports the theory that the upcoming Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 2 will explore the story of Asajj.

Will Asajj Ventress appear in Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 2?

Though the future of Asajj after her appearance in The Bad Batch Season 3 remains to be seen, Futterman’s revelation opens up exciting possibilities. She’s one of the many Star Wars characters who fans want to see in Tales of the Jedi Season 2. The animated series’ first season delved into the Jedi Order through two of its biggest characters: Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. With the potential to explore other Jedi characters, it may include the journey of the Jedi Padawan.

No one can beat Asajj’s character evolution. She has become a Nightsister, a Jedi Padawan, a Sith assassin, a Confederacy of Independent Systems military commander, and a bounty hunter at various points throughout her life. That said, the series’ second season may show her time as a Jedi Padawan and her early days as Dooku’s apprentice. It may also feature her exploits in Dark Disciple. As Lucasfilm has yet to announce its next move after The Bad Batch Season 3 ends, there’s a possibility that the studio has brought her back to give her own show or at least continue her story.
