There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to Ahsoka Season 2 after Ahsoka Tano pointed out that she is where she needs to be in the previous season finale. But is it possible that the line was referring to a completely different Star Wars series? The synopsis for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew may have confirmed the show's connection to Ahsoka!
Star Wars fans had previously anticipated an update on Skeleton Crew which would be the next major Star Wars series after Ahsoka. Although viewers expected an announcement to be made right after the Ahsoka finale, there haven't been any official updates since. However, Lucasfilm's copyright filing for Skeleton Crew suggests that the series will premiere in January 2024.
Interestingly, the copyright filing also revealed a Skeleton Crew synopsis which teases a third galaxy will be introduced in the Star Wars Universe. The synopsis reads as follows:
Fans initially believed that there would be a third galaxy to explore. However, some viewers speculated that the synopsis is referring to the same one where Peridea is located. If this is the case, there is a chance the characters in Skeleton Crew will end up on the same planet where Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, and Huyang are currently stranded.
It's a plausible idea considering that Ahsoka is already convinced that she and Sabine were meant to be in Peridea. Could this mean they are destined to meet the children and help them escape the planet? If this is the case, Skeleton Crew could also present a possible exit for the people stuck in Peridea so they can get back to their own galaxy.
Although it's a hopeful thought, it is important to point out that Lucasfilm and Disney have not yet confirmed Ahsoka Season 2 although the renewal is already being considered. In addition to that, we have yet to get an official update on Skeleton Crew from the companies. Nevertheless, there is hope that an announcement will be made before the end of the year.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set to premiere on Disney+ in January 2024.
