A new Star Wars TV series is coming to Disney Plus in just over a month. A new trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has been released ahead of its two-episode premiere on December 3 on Disney+, and it introduces viewers to the show's youthful cast. Jude Law headlines the cast of the Disney+ series, but the trailer is focused on highlighting the action-packed adventures of the four young actors who get lost in the galaxy far, far away.
Skeleton Crew is a live-action series set during the same time period as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, or around ten years after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The trailer reveals that a group of suburban kids discover a buried spaceship, and they fire it up and are sent away for an interstellar adventure where they will come across dangerous space pirates and other nefarious villains.
After landing at a spaceport, the kids try to pay for food with Old Republic credits, and some dangerous beings try to rob them, and it looks like this is the moment when Jude Law's mysterious character joins the story. The latest trailer also shows their companions: the elephant-looking alien kid named Neel (voiced by Robert Timothy Smith) and SM-33 (Nick Frost), the pirate droid and the first mate of the Onyx Cinder. The space adventures of Skeleton Crew reminds us of classic sci-fi films from the 1980s. The upcoming Star Wars series seems to be a homage to Steven Spielberg, Amblin, and the various kid-friendly adventures from that decade. Fans have been calling it “Goonies in space,” but if you prefer a more modern reference, you can call it, “Stranger Things in space.”

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Cast
The cast of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew includes Jude Law as the mysterious human Jedi Jod Na Nawood, the adult captain of the crew of galaxy-venturing kids: Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), KB (Kyriana Kratter), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith). Meanwhile, their droid companion, SM-33, is played by Nick Frost.
“He’s like a rusty old, cranky droid that sort of reluctantly helps the kids along the way,” Jude Law said about Frost's Star Wars character. “The other thing about him is that he’s the first mate of a mysterious ship.”
Family Matters star Jaleel White is confirmed to play a space pirate named Gunter, who will give the kids a rough time. Other characters are Pax (performance artist: Mike Estes), Brutus (Frank Tatasciore, performance artist: Stephan Oyoung), and Chaelt (Dale Soules). The series also stars Kerry Condon and Tunde Adebimpe, who have undisclosed roles.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is scheduled to premiere on December 3 with two episodes, only on Disney+.
