Star Wars Confirms Mace Windu and Jango Fett Series

Marvel Comics goes back to Star Wars' prequel era to launch two new series!

Two fan-favorite characters from the prequel trilogy are coming back as Star Wars opens a new path for Mace Windu and Jango Fett in a new miniseries. The Jedi Master and bounty hunter will be getting their respective comic books on the stands soon. These are announced at the New York Comic Con during the Lucasfilm Publishing panel.

Dark Horse Comics and Marvel Comics are teaming up to bring the Mace Windu and Jango Fett miniseries. Both studios will also have the all-ages graphic novels with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Thrawn: Alliances where General Thrawn teamed up with Anakin Skywalker. All these were announced at the New York Comic Con.

The Mace Windu miniseries will be written by Mark Bernardin and will be set for release in January 2024. It will be called as Star Wars: Mace Windu but the artist behind it was not revealed. This is the second Mace Windu miniseries following the one released in 2017 titled Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic.

Meanwhile, the Jango Fett series will be under writer Ethan Sacks who pens the Star Wars: Bounty Hunters series which is about to end soon. Sacks will end one project and enter into another as Jango Fett miniseries will be coming out in March 2024. No artist has been mentioned yet.

Marvel and Dark Horse Comics will be participating in the Star Wars: The High Republic Phase III. Both have different titles under their names with Marvel having Shadows of Starlight and the third version of Star Wars: The High Republic under its wings while Dark Horse holds the latest volume of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures following all-ages stories during the said era, and Tales from the Death Star which is a spooky Star Wars anthology.

Mace Windu is known to be portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in the live-action movies. He was a Jedi Master, a Force-sensitive human, who belonged to the Jedi High Council during the High Republic Era. On the other hand, Jango Fett is played by Temuera Morrison who is a Mandalorian bounty hunter and clone template belonging to the Grand Army of the Republic. At once point in his life, he became the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.

The Mace Windu series comes out in January 2024 while the Jango Fett series will be released in March 2024.
