One of the best things about Ahsoka is the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and the fact that he appeared in more than just one episode. Interestingly, his final return in the Star Wars series also confirmed something important about in his Apprentice's future in Ahsoka Season 2.
In Ahsoka Episode 8, a significant moment unfolded that left fans with a sense of fulfillment and mystery. After Ezra Bridger's departure with Grand Admiral Thrawn to the original galaxy, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren found themselves stranded in the distant world of Peridea. Although Sabine was disappointed about their predicament, Ahsoka assured her that Ezra had found his rightful place. Interestingly, she went on to confirm that it meant a larger, undisclosed mission for both of them on Peridea. As they both looked up at the sky, fans were treated to the remarkable appearance of Anakin Skywalker's Force ghost, smiling serenely as he watched over his former apprentice.
It certainly seems like fan service, especially for people who have been waiting for Christensen's return as Anakin since Ahsoka was announced. However, Star Wars confirmed that it was much more important as Anakin's approval meant he knew his Apprentice and her Apprentice were destined to be stuck in Peridea. Needless to say, it suggests that the Force ghost saved her in the World Between Worlds so she could take the long trip to a different galaxy and fulfill her own destiny.
Anakin's presence held profound significance in the series. His involvement began in the fifth episode, where he guided Ahsoka through a series of enlightening flashbacks to the Clone Wars era within the World Between Worlds. This journey provided valuable lessons and culminated in a profound confrontation between the master and apprentice.

In the seventh episode, Anakin appeared as a holographic figure in a pre-recorded training video, referencing three significant antagonists from The Clone Wars series. However, it was the season finale that unveiled the ultimate cameo: Anakin Skywalker returning as a Force ghost, imparting an air of mystery and purpose to Ahsoka's journey that continues to captivate audiences.
Will Anakin Return in Ahsoka Season 2?
Anakin's presence in Peridea certainly suggested he would play a larger role as Ahsoka and Sabine got used to life in a new galaxy. It is believed that the Force ghost will continue to guide Ahsoka in the second season. However, the series has not yet been officially confirmed for Season 2 despite reports that it is already in consideration.
Ahsoka Season 2 has yet to be officially announced. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Anakin's return in the first season, which is already streaming on Disney+.
