There is little doubt that Ahsoka Tano learned a lot from Anakin Skywalker during the short time that she was his Padawan. Fans have seen this perfectly in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and in the Disney+ series Ahsoka. But is it possible that Ahsoka also learned something from the dynamic between Anakin and his Master Obi-Wan Kenobi? The live-action series may have teased Ahsoka and Huyang turning into the new Anakin and Obi-Wan, at least in one aspect.
Ahsoka and Huyang clearly worked together for a long time by the time we see them together in the first season of Ahsoka. The little interactions between the two made it evident that they were used to each other's quirks and would sometimes share inside jokes. Not surprisingly, it reminds Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans of the dynamic between the impulsive Anakin and the calm Obi-Wan.
If one watches the animated show then the Disney+ series, you can easily spot that Ahsoka was quietly observing Anakin and Obi-Wan and employing what she learned from the two in her current situations. For instance, Ahsoka may have learned one of Anakin's craziest tricks and would use it to deal with emergency situations. Once they arrive in Peridea, Ahsoka must quickly get to Sabine Wren and she manages to do this by jumping off a ship in mid-flight. It mirrors Anakin's actions in Attack of the Clones when he leaps off a Speeder to catch a fugitive.
What follows Ahsoka's actions is Huyang's hilarious yet sensible reaction. "Not this again!" he exclaims, confirming that his companion has done this kind of thing in the past. What makes it even more hilarious is how it's similar to Obi-Wan's own reaction to Anakin jumping off that Speeder by saying, "I hate it when he does that."
It's hilarious and endearing to realize that things are still the same in the Star Wars Universe. Perhaps Ahsoka chose Huyang to be her companion because of his knowledge but also because he reminded her of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although it's hard to replace the dynamic duo of Anakin and Obi-Wan, it's assuring that Ahsoka and Huyang are just like them.
Will Huyang finally acknowledge Sabine Wren as a Jedi in Ahsoka Season 2?
The entire first season of Ahsoka made it clear that Huyang is not particularly impressed with Sabine as an Apprentice, believing there are others who are more talented in using the Force than the Mandalorian. However, Sabine finally proved herself in the finale, even if Huyang (or Ahsoka) wasn't there to witness it.
At this point, the three characters have nowhere to go and a lot of time in the world. With that in mind, the second season of Ahsoka could finally show Huyang realizing that Sabine is the perfect Apprentice for Ahsoka Tano and acknowledge her developing skills.
