Disney and Lucasfilm have released a new Season 1 Recap video on YouTube for Andor: A Star Wars Story. The video clocks in at about 14 minutes and gets audiences caught up on all 12 episodes of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series. Ahead of Andor Season 2's premiere next month, a main trailer and a Special Look featurette have been released back-to-back to hype up the next chapter in the Rebel Alliance's story, and Disney and Lucasfilm are making the first season more accessible, making some episodes completely free.

In addition to the Season 1 Recap video, three Andor Season 1 episodes have also been made available to stream on the Disney+ YouTube channel for free without a Disney+ subscription. Disney also announced today that the entire first season of Andor will be added to Hulu, allowing the show to reach those who still had a standalone Hulu subscription.

Lastly, on Thursday, March 13, beginning at 3 p.m. ET, the official YouTube channel of Disney+ will host Andor Season 1 With Tony Gilroy, a live re-watch event hosted by the show's creator and featuring a discussion with special guests (TBA), their reactions to key scenes, behind-the-scenes info, and the chance for fans to ask questions.

You can watch the Andor Season 1 Recap video below:

The Andor Season 1 Recap video opens with Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) gunning down a couple of soldiers from the Corporate Tactical Forces, even as one of them begs for his life. This cold, survivalist demeanor has been a signature of Luna's character throughout the series, and other characters were always quick to judge him, such as Vel Sartha (Faye Marsay), who called him a "mercenary".

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Tony Gilroy talked about his plans to lure new fans to the Star Wars series:

I mean, we’ve been working really closely and well together. They’re really great over there, and we’ve had such great support from them all the way through. So, it’s not really like a “message," but I really fixated on trying to get the audience that we [don’t already have]. I have friends of mine who love my work, or people I would meet, who go on about Michael Clayton or go on about something else, and then, “Well, have you seen my show?” “Well, no, it’s Star Wars. I don’t really….” So I’m trying to win that audience over, to let people know that this is the most important thing I’ll ever work on, and I’m more proud of it than anything I’ve ever worked on. So, I’m trying to pick up a few of those people. I’m sure the marketing department has some other demos that they probably want to go for, but that’s the one I was the most interested in.

What is Andor Season 2 about?

Andor series is a prequel to 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is a prequel to the first Star Wars movie in the franchise, Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. The story of Andor takes place after the events of Episode III, during the rise of the Galactic Empire, and five years before the events of Rogue One. The show is focused on the construction of the Death Star, which is prominently featured in the first trailer.

"While Season 1 followed Cassian’s reluctant journey from cynical nobody to revolutionary volunteer, the long-awaited conclusion in Andor Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance," the logline in a previous press release teased. "Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound."

“One of the great thrills of making Andor is the scale of the story and the number of characters we’re able to meet — ordinary people, Imperial overlords, passionate revolutionaries,” Tony Gilroy said in a statement. “They are real people making epic decisions, all of them staring down questions with terrifying consequences. Cassian’s journey is the soul and spine of our story, but it’s the choir that makes the show. I’m so excited for audiences to see where we go in Season 2.”
