If there's one character that people are hoping to see in Ahsoka, it would be Darth Vader. After all, the former Jedi is closely connected to Ahsoka Tano and it would make sense that the two are due for yet another tense reunion in the Star Wars show. Still, Hayden Christensen has not yet admitted his involvement in the Disney+ series. But now, a new leak has just confirmed that Anakin Skywalker will be returning this August!
When Ahsoka was first announced, people were already anticipating a reunion between Rosario Dawson's character and her former master. Although there were reports that Hayden Christensen is joining the cast of the new Star Wars show, the Obi-Wan Kenobi actor has repeatedly denied his involvement. Interestingly, a leak may have revealed that Christensen lied about not being in Ahsoka.
The leak comes from newly listed Ahsoka merchandise on Amazon. One particular merch for a Hera Syndulla premium T-shirt seems unassuming at first, featuring the image of the Star Wars Rebels character. However, the description confirms that Anakin Skywalker will be in the series.
The product description reads as follows:
That's right, Anakin Skywalker is listed as one of "your favorite Star Wars Ahsoka characters." What makes this interesting is the fact that the product mentions Anakin instead of Darth Vader and it implies that we'll get a glimpse of the Jedi Knight before he joined the Dark Side. Is it possible that the show will feature a flashback sequence of Anakin with a young Ahsoka? Although it's an awesome possibility, we're also looking forward to his former Padawan facing off against him in a lightsaber duel.
Star Wars Rebels fans are well aware of the first epic showdown between Ahsoka and Vader. However, it was unfinished and at this point, it might be time for a rematch. Needless to say, this is the interaction people are looking forward to in the new series.
Ahsoka will bring back Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano. She will be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. The series will also feature Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, the character he originally played in Star Wars Rebels. Catch the two-episode premiere on August 23, 2023.
