Star Wars: Ahsoka season 1 left fans on the edge of their seats, with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stranded on Peridea. Ahsoka believes it’s where they need to be, hinting at her readiness to face whatever will come her way. That said, Rosario Dawson teases the challenges her character will face and growth in the upcoming Ahsoka Season 2.

In her conversation with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation with Hayden Christensen, who plays Anakin Skywalker in the franchise, Dawson discussed her character’s journey from Star Wars: The Clone Wars to the first season of Ahsoka. For someone who has seen Ahsoka’s growth and development, the actress can’t help but get excited for what’s to come in Ahsoka Season 2.

“It just was so great to be able to see her get that lightness back, and it makes me very excited for a Season 2 and being able to explore even more,” she said.

Dawson teased that Ahsoka would look forward to the future after making more peace with her past. Of course, she, too, would be ready to face more challenges as she continued to fight for what she believed in.

“Because that's the thing I love about Star Wars: you're constantly conflicted, you're constantly provoked, you know?” she continued.

However, Dawson cleared that Ahsoka would continuously be tested despite having a better understanding of herself. She even hinted that it would be “cool” to see her doing her stuff now that she got a Padawan in Sabine and made peace with her mentor, Anakin, after their reunion in the first season.

“She has a more kind of confidence, I think, in herself and what she's chosen thus far in the journey,” she added.

What to Expect from Ahsoka Season 2

Ahsoka Season 1 mostly dealt with the past, revealing Ezra Bridger’s fate after the end of Star Wars: Rebels and the titular character’s whereabouts during the original trilogy. It also showed how she overcame the tragedy of her past, like her relationship with Anakin and Darth Vader, and how she grew beyond everything that had happened.

So, judging by Dawson’s comments, Ahsoka Season 2 will focus on the future and how it will affect the franchise’s going forward. Aside from Ahsoka and Sabine, Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll are also stuck on Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn is on his way to the Star Wars galaxy.

While on Peridea, Ahsoka may start training Sabine, especially after finally unlocking her Force potential. They, too, have to find their way back to the main galaxy and face the threats that Thrawn brings. Though it remains to be seen what will happen to Baylan’s storyline after Ray Stevenson’s untimely demise ahead of the first season’s release, his mission on Peridea could be more dangerous than it seems. By the looks of it, he may try to attack the Force itself, though no one really knows what will happen next.

Dawson deeply understands her character, Ahsoka, which could help her play her role perfectly. By the looks of it, she’s also excited for what’s to come in Ahsoka Season 2, just like fans.

The first season of Ahsoka is available on Disney+.
