The story of the galaxy far, far away continues to explore other characters and move on from certain points in time but some memories are too much to shrug off. There's that part where Kylo Ren killed Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens which reminds everyone how dark the narrative could be. Years after that, Star Wars alumnus Adam Driver who played Kylo Ren opened Saturday Night Live in a monologue where he jokes that he's had enough of people telling him that he killed Han Solo because as per him, "wokeness" did the deed.

Adam Driver loves Christmas and he expressed this in his monologue in Saturday Night Live revealing his deep relationship with Santa. With his stint on Star Wars, the actor seemingly want his name off of the naughty list in case Santa didn't like what he did in Star Wars: The Force Awakens when Kylo Ren killed Han Solo. Driver joked that "wokeness" actually killed Han Solo, not him, and that was on his Christmas list addressed to Santa. He said:

I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday, the food, the music, the family… But largely it’s because I have a very deep and personal relationship with Santa. Usually I do it in private. Since we’re here, and I know Santa watches SNL . He hasn’t liked it since [Chris] Kattan left. I turn 40 this year, Santa, so I'd like five pairs of Chinos. Oh, and I'd like people to stop coming up to me on the street saying, 'You killed Han Solo.' I didn't kill Han Solo. Wokeness killed Han Solo!

Check out his SNL monologue below:

In the clip, Adam Driver showed off his skills through singing his Christmas list while playing the piano as he addressed to Santa his Christmas list. The Star Wars alumnus was hilarious throughout his performance but it only goes to show how he cared about that defining scene of Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Will Adam Driver return as Kylo Ren in Star Wars?

One of the Lucasfilm projects lined up is a Star Wars film helmed by Shawn Levy who previously worked with Adam Driver in This is Where I Leave You. In an interview with Variety in October 2023, Shawn Levy asked whether his Star Wars movie would be a prequel to The Force Awakens which could pave way for the return of Adam Driver as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise, Levy played coy saying, "Your words, not mine! As you know Adam is a buddy, and I’ve always been a huge fan of Kylo Ren. But no comment."

To date, nothing is confirmed yet but the possibilities are endless with how the galaxy far, far away brings in the characters from the past into the current Star Wars slate like Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in different and creative ways like an own series or even being a Force ghost. Who knows what the franchise can do for other characters?
