Rumors have it that Disney+ is working on a Scarlet Witch special, allegedly secretly being shot alongside the WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Though nothing is confirmed about this special yet, this one is reportedly based on The Witches Road comic book arc that will pave the way for Scarlet Witch’s return.
The Rumor About Scarlet Witch’s Return
Two separate sources made a claim about the alleged Disney+ Scarlet Witch special. The Cosmic Circus writer Alex P., who goes on a Twitter handle @AlexFromCC, answered a fan’s question about Twitter influencer and writer Daniel Richtman’s post that there would be a The Witches Road special before Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
“It’s set before the events of Agatha,” he confirmed. “But not releasing before the show on Disney+…if that makes sense.”
To fuel the fire, the Twitter fan page Scarlet Witch Updates shared a rumor about The Witches Road special that would be a prequel to Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the same thing Daniel claimed. Allegedly, the special would feature the origin of The Witches Road and “the witches who entered there.”
What The Witches Road is All About?
The Witches Road is a supernatural realm only sorcerers can enter in the Marvel lore. One of the bubbles that composed Omega World contained the Witches’ Road, a territory called Magika, which was also Scarlet Queen’s home.
There are theories that the Scarlet Queen is the alternate future version of the Scarlet Witch, considering Magika appeared to be the Witches’ Road. See the connection? If the show makes it, it is expected to explore the history of witchcraft on Earth-616, making it the perfect introduction for Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Will Scarlet Witch Appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos?
Wanda might have died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but her death wasn’t confirmed. Her lifeless body wasn’t seen.
Agatha and Wanda formed a connection in WandaVision, being Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor in Westview. She was the series’ villain, whom Wanda left powerless to stop her from doing anything evil. So, with this connection, there might be a possibility that Scarlet Witch might appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos has no official release date, but it’s expected to be out in late 2023 or early 2024 on Disney+. However, there are no words yet if the Scarlet Witch special will be in the works.
