Rent-a-Girlfriend Creator's The Shiunji Family Children Anime Adaptation Announced With Special Illustration

The Shiunji Family Children, another romantic comedy manga series from the creator of Rent-a-Girlfriend, is getting an anime adaptation.

Rent-a-Girlfriend mangaka Reiji Miyajima has another manga series that will receive an anime adaptation, and it's called The Shiunji Family Children. KADOKAWA announced the TV adaptation of his latest romantic comedy manga series today, and Miyajima shared a commemorative illustration as part of the announcement.

The Shiunji Family Children is written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima with illustration support from Reiji Yukino. It romantic comedy manga has been published in the semi-monthly magazine Young Animal since February 25, 2022, with Volume 3 of the series scheduled to release in Japan on February 16, 2024. Yen Press is the English publisher of the series, and the publisher shared a story description:

The love between brother and sister. The love between man and woman. That which is most forbidden is most unyielding. The two sons and five daughters of the Shiunji family shine like brilliant gems, each with intelligence and beauty in equal measure. And with the pedigree of their wealthy father behind them, how could they not be the talk of the town? Eldest son Arata has spent his life being tossed around by the whims of his colorful sisters, yet a little teasing won’t stop him from valuing his family over anything and anyone else. But when his youngest sister turns fifteen, their father reveals a long-hidden secret of the Shiunji “siblings” and knocks Arata’s world off its axis…


Miyajima and KADOKAWA haven't revealed any details about the upcoming anime adaptation yet, so it'll likely won't be released anytime soon.

As for the mangaka's other projects, the 35th volume of Rent-a-Girlfriend is scheduled to be released on Feb. 15. His other works include, Suzuki no Shiten (2009), AKB49: Renai Kinshi Jorei (2010), Mononote: Edo Shinobi Kagyo (2016), 22/7 +α (2020), and his one-shots Pool no Saboten (2005), Icon (2008), and Kanojo, Tensei Shimasu (2020). He also worked on the series composition of the 2020 anime adaptation of 22/7.
