A new trailer has been released for Plus-Sized Elf TV anime, which is based on the ecchi comedy fantasy manga series by Synecdoche. The series will broadcast in Japan, starting on July 6, 2024, and it will be available to stream on HIDIVE in the United States. The trailer highlights the titular overweight elf Erufuda's journey to lose weight so that she could return back to her world, and it looks like this anime will have a lot of comedic moments that will feature other female elves and delicious food. It also previews the opening theme song for the anime, Fried Pride, which is performed by REAL AKIBA BOYZ loves Kasumi Taguchi & AiRyA from REAL AKIBA BAND.
Erufuda is voiced by Ayaso Ito, who's known for playing Arisa Ichigaya in the band-based anime series BanG Dream!, and Kaoruko Hanayagi in the media franchise Revue Starlight. The other confirmed Japanese voice cast are Takahide Ishii as Tomoatsu Naoe, Rena Hasegawa as Kuroeda, and Ayaka Fukuhara as Olga. Plus-Sized anime is being directed by Toshikatsu Tokoro (Soul Link), and Yuuki Takabayashi (We Love Rice) is in charge of the series composition while Katsuyuki Sato (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!) is working on character designs.
Studio Elias will producing the animation of Plus-Sized Elf. The studio, which previously lent a hand on anime projects such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Blue Lock, Food Wars!, and Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon, but the studio is taking center stage for the first time with Plus-Sized Elf anime.

What is Plus-Sized Elf about?
Synecdoche's Elf-san wa Yaserarenai manga series was originally serialized on Wani Books' Comic Gum website from 2016 to 2021, with a total of 47 chapters, compiled into 8 tankōbon volumes. A sequel series, titled Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping! (Japanese: Shin Erufu-san wa Yaserarenai), is currently being serialized in Akita Shoten's monthly seinen magazine, Dokodemo Young Champion. The first volume of the sequel was published in 2022.
