Overwatch has revealed its next collaboration, and it is crossing over with Shift Up's Stellar Blade. The crossover, named EVE Protocol, was teased on October 23 with co-branded teaser art from both studios.
Blizzard Entertainment announced the collaboration with the message, "Revealing Overwatch's new collaboration, EVE Protocol!" Shift Up teased the same crossover with the line, "You have my attention!" and confirmed the EVE Protocol collaboration is incoming.
Blizzard has since confirmed that EVE Protocol begins on November 3, revealing official key art for the collaboration. The art features Freja, Vendetta, Widowmaker, Soldier: 76, and D.Va, with Widowmaker taking on Eve's look at the center of the lineup.
The pairings dress D.Va as Lily, Vendetta as Tachy, Soldier: 76 as Adam and Freja as Raven. Pricing, bundles and the event's full content details have not been announced yet.n.
Stellar Blade launched in 2024 and follows Eve, a member of an airborne squad sent down to a ruined Earth. The game built its name on fast, stylish combat, and Eve's design became one of the most recognizable in recent action games.
The name carries weight for Stellar Blade players. In Shift Up's 2024 action game, the EVE Protocol is the directive that sends Eve to Earth to fight the Naytiba invasion, and branding the crossover around it signals that Eve will sit at the center of whatever content arrives.
The tease lands in the middle of Overwatch Season 5: Dark Creed, which recently added the new Support hero Doctrine and the Escort map Grímsvötn alongside Halloween events. It also follows immediately on the game's Solo Leveling collaboration, which ran from October 7 to 20 with skins for Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In.
Overwatch has built a long list of crossovers in recent years, including LE SSERAFIM, Street Fighter, Cowboy Bebop, My Hero Academia, NieR: Automata and Transformers. Stellar Blade has been just as busy, partnering with NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke on its own side.
Shift Up's next crossover beat arrives on November 6, when four Bayonetta outfits for Eve will be offered free of charge. Stellar Blade Complete Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 the same day.
Reaction to the tease has been split, with excitement on one side and pushback on the other. Some players pointed to the AI-generated music video Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae shared in July for the sequel Stellar Blade: Bloodrain, while others questioned how Eve's design will translate into Overwatch.
Past Overwatch collaborations have typically arrived as skin bundles tied to a limited-time event window. Blizzard has not said whether EVE Protocol will follow that pattern, which makes the eventual hero list the real story of this crossover.
Both studios say more detailed information on the EVE Protocol collaboration will be revealed at a later date. Until then, the November 3 start and the five-hero key art are the substance of the announcement.
