Fortnite has officially confirmed that One Piece is coming to the game, ending years of rumors about the most requested anime collaboration in the battle royale's history. The confirmation arrived in-game on Saturday, when a glitch moment at 2 p.m. ET opened the pirate chest sitting on the map and played the collaboration's reveal trailer for everyone inside.

Epic Games built the reveal around the new mini-season, Treasure Hunters, which Epic named in a short teaser released a few hours earlier. The One Piece teaser shows the Going Merry, the Straw Hat Pirates' first ship, emerging from the fog, and a separate teaser shot shows the Battle Bus itself transforming into a pirate ship.

The figurehead on the ship matches the anime's version of the Going Merry, confirming the collaboration draws on the One Piece anime rather than the live-action series. Epic has not yet shown or named any skins, so which Straw Hats make the crossing — and in what form — remains unconfirmed until the full reveal.

One Piece is one of six pirate crews sailing into Treasure Hunters, whose Jolly Rogers appeared in the in-game news feed ahead of the reveal. The confirmed crews are Fortnite originals Jones and Hope, A$AP Rocky, Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto, and Lil Uzi Vert, alongside One Piece — with one crew still to be announced.

An earlier teaser built around a treasure map also teased Hatsune Miku's return as a Fortnite Sprite, with a Kasane Teto Sprite alongside her. The pirate chest on the map can already be interacted with, though for now it does little more than sit there ominously ahead of the season change.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 ends on Sunday, November 1, and Treasure Hunters begins the same day after downtime. The mini-season is expected to run for about a month before a brand-new chapter begins, and players have a few days left to finish the current Battle Pass.

Epic has not specified whether the One Piece content lands at the mini-season's launch or later in its run. A fuller announcement is set for Sunday, October 25 at 12 p.m. PT, covering the complete collaboration lineup, the Battle Pass and the mini-season's official start details.

The collaboration closes a long loop for Epic, which has crossed over with nearly every other major Jump franchise — Dragon Ball, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach among them — while One Piece stayed missing. The manga has run for nearly 30 years and the anime is approaching 1,200 episodes, making the Straw Hats one of the biggest gets in the game's collaboration history.
