Netflix's One Piece has been a stellar live-action adaptation of one of the iconic classic manga and anime of all time that it broke the curse of live-action adaptations not meeting the expectations from its source materials. In an exceptional moment, a crossover between the live-action adaptation and anime finally happened during the latest Jump Fiesta where two Usopp actors from the two worlds finally met. Jacob Romero Gibson who plays the role in the Netflix series and Yamaguchi Kappei who voiced the character in the anime strike their iconic Usopp pose as they unite in real life.
One Piece has been a staple name in the manga and anime industry for so long that it became a classic in an instant, and when it was announced that the title would be having a live-action adaptation, fans were worried at first on whether it would suffer the curse but it proved everyone wrong with its stellar adaptation. Jacob Romero Gibson suited up to bring Usopp to life in the Netflix series and in a special event that rarely happens, he got to meet the voice behind Usopp from the anime. The images were taken during the latest Jump Fiesta which were attended by the actors of the live-action adaptation and Yamaguchi Kappei was there as well. Kappei did not just voice Usopp once, he also voiced Usopp in the Japanese dub of the Netflix series.
What's next for Usopp in Netflix's One Piece Season 2?
Netflix's One Piece was confirmed for a second season shortly after the release of the series on the streaming platform. Season 1 ended with the Straw Hat Pirates in their new ship from the friend of Usopp, Kaya. As they embark on a new journey, the second season of Netflix's One Piece is expected to follow the group as they head to the Grand Line where they could be involved in a conflict versus the Baroque Works criminal syndicate in an attempt to destabilize the Arabasta Kingdom and conquer it.
Usopp is expected to play a bigger role in the upcoming series as he is a pivotal character in the story. Aside from being a member of the group, Usopp also brings a comedic relief in Netflix's One Piece series. The team is also looking to expand as they aim to find a doctor to join the Straw Hat Pirates.
All the episodes of Netflix's One Piece Season 1 are now available to stream. There is no release date yet for Season 2.
