The Ocarina of Time remake is giving players a trophy room with teeth. Nintendo's new overview trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time reveals the Hall of Fallen Foes, a new area filled with statues of the enemies Link has defeated — and the statues are not just for looking at, because players can use them to rematch the game's bosses. It is a fitting addition for a remake aimed at players who finished the original decades ago and never got a clean way back into its toughest fights.

Nintendo of America began streaming the overview trailer on Wednesday, walking through what the remake changes ahead of its November 5 launch on Switch 2.

Watch the overview trailer here:

The remake modernizes how the 1998 classic plays. It adds traditional camera controls alongside new motion controls, a proper jump button, and a roll dash action. Items can now be equipped to the ZR button and swapped through a pop-up menu, and a new Threads of Time menu recaps the story so far while pointing players to their next objective. Smaller touches round out the package: time now passes in towns, unlike in the original game, players can hum into the Switch 2's microphone to play music in-game, the game recognizes music played on an ocarina players can purchase separately, and the remake features added dialogue throughout.

The remake also connects to Zelda Notes, the Zelda service inside the Nintendo Switch app. A Today's Record feature recaps the player's progress in the app, while Gossip Quests turn exploration into a scavenger hunt for points that can be exchanged for ocarina music scores, which then feed the app's Play Ocarina function. The app includes an Ocarina of Time Quiz with more than 2,000 questions, and rupees earned in the app can be spent in-game, and vice versa.

New amiibo of Young Link and Young Zelda are on the way in 2027, and each unlocks an in-game mask for its character. The hardware arrives sooner: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition of the Switch 2 console ships on October 29, alongside a matching Pro Controller and carrying case.

The original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launched for the Nintendo 64 in November 1998 in Japan and the U.S., arriving in Europe and Australia that December. The fifth mainline entry in the series and its first in 3D, it has been re-released repeatedly since — including a remastered Nintendo 3DS edition in June 2011 that bundled in the reworked Master Quest dungeons. The franchise's live-action film, meanwhile, opens April 30, 2027.
