Star Wars has been conquering the world for more than four decades and it turns up in the best ways possible. Beyond the movies and series, the galaxy far, far away makes a special appearance in the final race of the NASCAR season in Phoenix, Arizona! In support of Bubba Wallace, Columbia Sportswear releases a Star Wars-inspired clothing line for the 23XI Racing driver and to make things more special, the legendary Mark Hamill personally hands over the new galactic paint schemed car for the final race!
Just when everyone thought Star Wars couldn't get more exciting, the multimedia franchise enters into the NASCAR race in support of Bubba Wallace as they unveil the new paint scheme for his car in the final race through a video online. In the clip, Star Wars legend Mark Hamill personally paid a visit to Bubba and gave him the keys to a special ride. On top of the sweet ride, Hamill also gives a new helmet to Bubba which resembles that of the helmet of Luke Skywalker and the other X-Wing pilots. Bubba also wears a fire suit similar to that of X-Wing pilots in orange and white colors. To finally put the cherry on top, Mark Hamill utters his iconic line to Bubba, "The Force will be with you, always." See the clip below:
Star Wars is no stranger to NASCAR as various special cars already made an appearance in the event. In line with the Star Wars prequel films, in partnership with Pepsi, Star Wars-themed cars grace the event when they first arrived in theaters. Will Mark Hamill return in Star Wars?
If there is someone who anyone would recognize as legendary in the Star Wars franchise, one of those would definitely be Mark Hamill who famously donned the suit of Luke Skywalker and brought one of the most iconic characters of the narrative into life. The legacy of Mark Hamill in Star Wars has been so impactful that his return in any of the current Lucasfilm projects would mean a lot. Unfortunately, in June 2023, the famous actor revealed that he is officially done with Star Wars.
Speaking to CBS News, Mark Hamill revealed that his days as Luke Skywalker is officially over:
Well, you never say never, but I just don’t see any reason to. Let me put it that way: I mean, they have so many stories to tell, they don’t need Luke anymore. I had my time, and that’s good. But that’s enough.
Previously on Star Wars, Mark Hamill made special cameo appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. While such may be the last time that Mark Hamill will don the Luke Skywalker suit, his legacy will remain to be one of the most lasting in the entire Star Wars franchise.
