Loki Season 2 just got a new trailer ahead of its Disney+ release, and it featured a new look at the show's unexpected Thor villain. The new teaser also featured a better glimpse at the man who would be possessed by the Marvel comic book villain who is finally getting his live-action debut in the upcoming series.
The new trailer for Loki Season 2 was dropped yesterday and fans were thrilled to see that the God of Mischief has reunited with Sylvie. However, there are dark things to look forward to in the second season. At one point, we get a glimpse at a billboard for the film Zaniac! which also shows a bit of the villainous character.
It's also clear that we will be seeing some action at a movie premiere as the lead actor of the said film shows up and greets an adoring crowd. While this looks like a glamorous event, there's something happening here that has drawn the TVA crew back to the past.
Who is Zaniac?
Zaniac, a character from Marvel Comics, made his debut in May 1982's Thor #319. This parasitic entity possesses a human host to serve as Dormammu's agent. Its journey through hosts eventually led it to actor Brad Wolf while he was working on a film called Zaniac! The movie centered on a serial killer seeking revenge against his abusive mother by targeting women. During filming, Brad became infected with the entity and was caught in a nuclear explosion related to the Manhattan Project, transforming him into Zaniac.
As Zaniac, he terrorized women until Thor intervened, putting a stop to his villainous actions. Interestingly, the trailer also revealed Rafael Casa's portrayal of Brad Wolfe, the actor who fell victim to the entity in the comics. This glimpse into Casa's character adds to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming adaptation.
But what role with Zaniac play in Loki Season 2? Considering that his scenes appear to be in the same timeline as those featuring the Kang Variant Victor Timely, there is a huge chance these two will end up working together. With that in mind, we'll be in for a lot of magic, transformation, and mystery in the second season of Loki.
Loki Season 2 will bring back Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Neil Ellice, Jonathan Majors, and Owen Wilson. The second season is already set to premiere on Disney+ on October 6, 2023.
