CD Projekt Red has teased that it's getting ready to launch a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 soon. Following the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion in the latter half of 2023, the studio has continued to release new updates for Cyberpunk 2077 regularly. The open-world roleplaying game is over three years old now, but latest patch will be rolling out in the near future.
On its official social media channels, CD Project Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077's next update is set to launch this coming week. The studio did not mention a specific date on which the patch would go live, but some details regarding what the update would do were revealed. According to the developer, the new title update is set to resolve various bugs and other errors that players have experienced in the game in recent months. One of the things CD Project said it would look to fix with the latest update has something to do with finisher animations.
Will there be major updates for Cyberpunk 2077 in the future?
CD Project Red has stated that it doesn't plan to launch any major updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, the company has started to develop on many of its major upcoming titles such as The Witcher 4 and the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, fans can still expect new patches for Cyberpunk 2077, so expect the studio to push out more updates over the course of this year. However, expect them to be smaller in nature.
The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, currently codenamed Orion, is still being kept under wraps. All we know is that it's currently in development, and that CD Projekt is thinking about bringing multiplayer into the mix. As for the next Cyberpunk 2077 update, expect CD Projekt to release patch notes once it goes live, so stay tuned.
