The production for Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece Season 2 has finally begun, as the lead stars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skyler reunite in South Africa to reprise their roles as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, respectively. As the show is gearing up for its big return, the streamer has released its first look at the new season’s script that reveals the first episode’s familiar title, The Beginning and the End.
Netflix’s official One Piece X page shared the script shot in question, complete with the Straw Hats’ pride possessions, like Usopp’s headgear, Zoro’s katana, Sanji’s pepper mill, Luffy’s straw hat, and Nami’s compass. These hint at the crew's reunion and the premiere episode’s title teases their arrival in Loguetown.
The first episode's title is similar to the title of the anime’s 48th episode, The Town of the Beginning and the End – Arrival at Loguetown. Here, the crew arrives in Loguetown to shop for goods, but Luffy gets pursued by the Marine Captain, Smoker. Zoro, too, meets Smoker’s assistant, Tashigi, who resembles his childhood friend, relative, and rival Shimotsuki Kuina.
The title also alludes to Gol D. Roger’s connection to Loguetown, given that the Pirate King was born and died in the said city on the Polestar Islands. Loguetown will also be a big part of the second season as the Straw Hat pirates prepare to sail to the Grand Line after their journey in East Blue.

What to Expect from Netflix’s One Piece Season 2
One Piece Season 2 is expected to adapt the Arabasta Saga, the second saga in Eiichiro Oda’s manga and anime of the same title, on which the show is based. Here, the Straw Hats will prepare to sail to the Grand Line and encounter the whale Laboon. They will then set sail to Whisky Peak, where they will be targeted by the criminal organization Baroque Works and help Nefertari Vivi.
They will also go on an adventure on Little Garden and Drum Island, where they meet Tony Tony Chopper. Oda-san confirmed Chopper’s appearance in the second season when he announced the show’s renewal. As the pirates seek a doctor to help heal Nami’s mysterious disease, they will get Chopper’s help.
Details about One Piece Season 2 are emerging as of late. So, as the production officially begins, fans can expect to know more about the show’s return. It’s good to note Netflix has yet to reveal who will play Chopper and Dr. Kureha. As Jamie Lee Curtis previously shared her interest in portraying Drum Island’s elderly doctor and Chopper’s mentor, it remains to be seen if she will indeed be part of the cast.
One Piece Season 2 is expected to be released in 2025, while the first season is available on Netflix.
