Streaming has made life much simpler and has transformed the television industry, making it easier for people to watch their favorite shows in a snap. However, Netflix is one of these streaming platforms that always manages to remain a target of criticism when they remove popular titles from their service. Unfortunately, now it’s time for the anime fandom to revolt since Netflix is removing one of its best anime films.

This time around, the fan-favorite live-action anime film, Bleach is ready to be dropped. Currently, Bleach is set to be removed from the streaming service on August 18, 2023. So, fans only have a couple of weeks to re-watch the live-action Bleach movie. And for first-time viewers, this adaptation is definitely worth watching if you are an anime fan.

Initially, the popular anime film made its debut in 2018 and serves as the first live-action adaptation of Tite Kubo’s hit series. Bleach was directed by Shinsuke Sato, with Sota Sukushi bringing the lead character, Ichigo Kurosaki, to life. Not only this, but the movie also introduces fans to Karakura Town.

Bleach adapts the anime’s first couple of arcs up until Rukia is remanded to the Soul Society, so the feature ends with a cliffhanger. It is among some of the few anime live-action adaptations that have been received quite well by fans, regardless of anime’s problems with live-action adaptations.

The movie’s story was simplified at the time of creation so that it could meet its designated runtime. And despite the changes, Sato somehow managed to perfectly portray the core of Bleach. Unfortunately, no sequel for this live-action adaptation was ever ordered, and fans outside of Japan could easily watch it, owing to Netflix’s license. However, now it seems as if the service is about to let the license expire.
