A spinoff of History Channel’s popular TV show called Vikings, Valhalla is a prequel that has become quite popular among fans. Valhalla features some famous actors and actresses, such as Leo Suter playing the role of Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson, Sam Corlett as Leif Eriksson, and Frida Gustavsson as his sister Freydis Eriksdotter. The Netflix series officially launched on the platform in 2022 with some good ratings.

Unfortunately, Variety recently confirmed that the journeys of Harald, Freydis, and Leif are coming to an end on Netflix with Season 3. Jeb Stuart, the co-creator and executive producer of Vikings: Valhalla revealed in a statement that he has accomplished his mission of showing the evolution of these characters and made them who they are today. You can read his entire response below:

“I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald and Freydis. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today and we have done just that. I hope when the audience gets to see the new season, they’ll be excited by all the new heights that we’ve taken these heroes. When we started this project 5 years ago, I worked hard with this incredible cast and crew to craft a journey that we all hoped would be satisfying.”

In the past, Stuart told Collider that he has “a real plan” for a fourth, fifth, and even sixth season, so this will definitely not be happening now that the show is ending. He also claimed that the first three seasons of Vikings: Valhalla were initially planned as “a block,” so we have high hopes for the show’s ending and that it’s not going to leave fans unsatisfied. Meanwhile, you can have a look at some Vikings: Valhalla footage:

Vikings: Valhalla Plot

Vikings: Valhalla’s set almost a hundred years after Vikings’ last season, bringing a whole new generation of Norse warriors, leaders, schemers, and dreamers. The series follows the story of three historical figures, including the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson, his sister Freydís Eiríksdóttir, and the Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson, whom we now know as Harald Hardrada.

The series begins with Freydis, Leif, and Harald being brought together after St Brice’s Day Massacre of 1002. They are tied up in a quest for revenge that introduces viewers to a wide range of historical characters, such as Queen Emma of Normandy, the Danish empire builder Cnut the Great as well as his father Sweyn Forkbeard, and the warrior King Edmund Ironside.
