Prince Harry’s new docuseries on Netflix, Heart of Invictus, has finally come to fruition. After a long wait, the streamer has released an official trailer for the series, featuring the Duke of Sussex and The Invictus Games’ athletes. And by the looks of it, this one will be far from their controversial docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
Heart of Invictus is based on the international multi-sport event The Invictus Games, which was founded by Prince Harry in 2014. It is meant for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. Come 2021, Archewell Productions, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s production company, announced the development of the said docuseries. And now, it will soon hit Netflix.
Prince Harry delivers a speech to the game’s participants in the trailer. “It is here at the Invictus Games that you release: Whatever you carry, it is the springboard to the next level,” he says. From there, the video features several glimpses of the games, the athletes, and the inspiring stories behind them. You can see the trailer below:
What is Heart of Invictus about?
Heart of Invictus features the athletes’ inspiring stories on how they join the games. Fans will also see the works behind the scenes to make this international event possible. The docuseries will see exceptional competitors from around the world preparing for the tournament at The Hague, which was moved to April 2022 after being postponed twice in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Invictus Games Foundation, its mission is to inspire international communities through “the power of the unconquerable human spirit.” And per Prince Harry, The Invictus Games focuses more on the servicemen and women’s recovery and their efforts to be part of the community again, not the injuries.
