It has only been seven months since the first season of Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal hit Netflix, but the streamer has already renewed the show for a second season. And if that already feels rushed, the service has announced the coming of Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal Season 2 two weeks before its official release.
Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal follows the story of the Murdaugh family and the trial of Alex Murdaugh after the death of Mallory Beach, a teenager who died after Paul Terry Murdaugh crashed the family boat into the Archers Creek Bridge in Beaufort, South Carolina. Alex was on trial for the murder of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, in 2021, while Paul had been under indictment. With the show’s positive reviews, Murdaugh Murders Season 2 is about to come.
Netflix announced the return of the Murdaugh Murders for a second season to continue the gruesome story of the killing of Maggie and Paul. Alex received a guilty verdict on March 2, 2023—two weeks after the first season premiered and documented the events before the decision was made. Hence, fans can expect the true crime series to continue where the first season left off.
