One of the most favorite new heroes in the MCU is Moon Knight who appeared in his own series on Disney+ with a breath of fresh air for the viewers introducing the Egyptian myths into the franchise. Oscar Isaac continues to prove to be a stellar actor as he played one character but with multiple personalities. One of which is Jake Lockley who was shown in a glimpse and the director of the show has a shocking revelation about him.

Moon Knight introduced Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant who has a secret that even he does not know: he lives a life of a mercenary named Marc Spector who is the avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian deity of the moon. He owes his life to Khonshu who revived him from a near death experience. By the end of the series, another personality was introduced named as Jake Lockley and the director of the show, Mohamed Diab, reveals in Marvel Studios' Moon Knight: The Art of the Series a shocking revelation about Lockley:

We've all seen huge action sequences before, but now, anything could happen in a second. You can be transferred somewhere else, and you don't know what happened. Even the protagonist doesn't know what happened! That glued people to their seats. And at the end, we discovered that the blackouts were actually Jake. It was a big question—is Jake going to be in our show or not? We tried in some versions to have him, but eventually, he was in the show without being in the show — and I love that.

Jake Lockley is the third persona of Steven Grant and Marc Spector who has been teased in the fifth episode of the series and was later revealed in the end of the finale episode. Lockley was seen pointing a gun and even speaking in Spanish. So far, that was the only exposure of Lockley in the MCU since the series mainly focused on Steven and Marc.

Will there be Moon Knight Season 2?

To date, there has been no confirmation yet from Marvel Studios whether there would be Moon Knight Season 2 but hopes are up when the director of the series, Mohamed Diab, revealed to ComicBook.com about his plans for the second installment of the show. Diab said:

First of all, I want to tell you that I'm kept in the dark as you. I know nothing about what's going to happen. And I'm not just saying that I'm not pulling a Toby McGuire on you. The thing is, I am sure that Moon Knight is here to stay. Is it going to be a film? Is it going to be a TV show? Is it going to be just joining another character in the next journey? I don't know. I wish I'm part of that story. One day, expanding that world.

Diab assured everyone that Moon Knight is just the start of the character and that he would soon be a mainstay in the MCU for the next years. In the same interview, Diab even hinted his plans for Jake Lockley should Moon Knight Season 2 be given a shot or if the character would be in another project:

If it was for me, I would start with Jake Lockley. I want to see his world. Everyone is so intrigued about him and [I want to] see what happens in between those blinks and who he is and what does he love and who does he love. It's very interesting for me. But I love that the small things that we put all through the episode made people, every episode, waiting for Jake, waiting for Jake, waiting for Jake. But I think it, he was introduced in the right time at the very end, knowing that con should still have a hold on them.

Moon Knight can appear at any point in the MCU considering that the franchise is an all-encompassing narrative that weaves itself into one whole story. Wherever he will be in, he will surely be a standout.
