Marvel Studios has unveiled the first full trailer for Ironheart, the highly anticipated Disney+ series set to premiere on June 24, 2025, with a three-episode debut. The trailer, released on Marvel Entertainment's YouTube and other official accounts, introduces Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a brilliant young inventor stepping into her role as a tech-savvy superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The trailer opens with Riri, a Chicago-based MIT prodigy, navigating the aftermath of her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Now back in her hometown, she’s balancing her genius intellect with the challenges of youth, crafting her own Iron Man-inspired armor from scratch. The footage teases a gritty, grounded story, blending high-stakes action with Riri’s personal struggles. A standout moment shows her suit—sleek, vibrant, and packed with cutting-edge tech— soaring through the city, hinting at the innovative flair she brings to the MCU’s hero roster.
A new poster for Ironheart was also revealed:
Directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, Ironheart dives into Riri’s world as she faces off against Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, a villain wielding mystical powers that contrast sharply with Riri’s tech-driven approach. The trailer suggests a narrative exploring the clash between science and magic, with The Hood’s eerie abilities—possibly tied to demonic forces—posing a unique threat. Alden Ehrenreich also appears as a mysterious figure, adding intrigue to the ensemble, which includes Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, and Shea Couleé in supporting roles.
Executive produced by Ryan Coogler, who helmed Black Panther, the series promises a fresh perspective on the MCU, rooted in Riri’s Chicago environment. The trailer highlights her community ties, with glimpses of her tinkering in a makeshift lab and confronting local challenges, grounding her superhero journey in relatable stakes. Marvel’s signature blend of humor, heart, and spectacle shines through, with Riri’s quick wit and determination front and center.
The trailer also teases connections to the broader MCU, with hints of Stark Industries’ legacy and potential ties to Avengers: Secret Wars. While Ironheart stands on its own, it’s clear Riri’s story will ripple across Marvel’s Phase 6. With its mix of street-level stakes and supernatural threats, the series looks to carve out a unique space in the MCU, much like Ms. Marvel or Moon Knight.
