McDonald’s teases a mysterious event happening this month after featuring several famous TV shows, a classic film, and even an anime that referenced the fast-food chain in the past, including a brief glimpse of Loki Season 2. The official trailer for the Marvel TV series’ second season shows Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) working in a vintage-style McDonald’s restaurant. With this connection between the two, something big is probably coming.
McDonald’s has been heavily featured in the leaked set photos of Loki Season 2. As expected, many wonder what the Gods of Mischief will do to the golden arch. But upon the release of its trailer, it just confirmed that this diner would be a major part of the series because of Sylvie.
McDonald’s Twitter account first posted a 15-second video featuring clips from Seinfeld, The Devil is a Part-Timer, Coming to America, and The Office. At the end of it, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is seen standing in front of a cashier, who happens to be Sylvie. “No spoilers,” its caption read.
In the next post, it featured a sealed brown bag with its iconic red and yellow logo on it. What gets everyone’s attention is the “opening date 8.14.23” and its caption, “coming soon.” So, what does it mean?
Nobody knows, and by the looks of it, the brown bag will reveal its mystery on August 14. However, as McDonald’s collaborates with Disney to produce Happy Meal toys for Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie The Marvels, it may do the same for Loki Season 2.
Loki Season 2 Leaked Set Photos
Several leaked photos from Loki Season 2 saw Sylvie working at a 1970s McDonald’s, following Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse theme. In the images shared by Twitter user @bestoftwh, Hiddleston wore his TVA outfit while sitting in the restaurant. The exact branch was not revealed.
Loki seemed to be talking to the customers, probably discussing things about his investigation. These photos appeared to be taken on the same day Martino filmed her scenes while wearing a McDonald’s uniform.

What is Loki Season 2 about?
The first season ended with Sylvie watching the Sacred Timeline branch in the Citadel at the End of Time. She remained unfulfilled and unsatisfied despite killing He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), establishing her role as a character whose mission was to destroy everyone responsible for erasing the life she could have.
In Loki Season 2, she chooses to have a normal life without Loki and the TVA. She probably used He Who Remains’ TemPad to leave the Citadel at the End of Time to travel through the multiverse and arrive on Earth in the 1970s.
