The Marvel Cinematic Universe's doors are now open to bigger possibilities as the franchise expands with more fan-favorite comic book characters making their way into the narrative. From the X-Men to the Fantastic Four, everyone's beloved daywalker is finally joining the MCU with the reboot of Blade. Fitting enough for the character, the director of the film, Yann Demange, confirms that it will be having an R-Rating.
From the comic book character of the same name written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by Gene Colan, Blade first appeared in 1973 on the Tomb of Dracula #10 before he finally got his own titular series. He is best known for being the daywalker who hunts vampires with a supernatural ability of regenerative healing, immunity from vampire bites, super strength, and agility, and with his skill set, wouldn't it be a bore if his reboot wouldn't get an R-Rating? Well, thankfully, it has been confirmed by Yann Demange that Blade reboot got an R-Rating which he proudly shared in a recent interview with Deadline. Demange revealed:
During the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Kevin Feige proudly announced that a new face for the beloved daywalker will be walking the streets with Mahershala Ali bagging the role and being the successor of Wesley Snipes for the role. Yann Demange personally revealed how working with Mahershala Ali is like and how the actor fits the bill perfectly. With Ali bringing Blade to life, the ruthless nature of the character will be translated from the pages of the comic books to the big screens given the rating of the reboot.

Marvel's Blade has come a long way from when it was announced in 2019. The movie faced various changes from directors to writers, debacles from one delay to another, and various rewrites already happened for Blade and a report from Variety even reveal that the titular character was near from being a supporting one in his own film which could've been absurd. Now, rewrites were supposed to continue but just like the rest of Hollywood, its production put on hiatus because of the current actors' and writers' strike. Because of this, Blade is still not in production and it might not even reach its target release in 2025 if this continues.
Blade reboot is still set for its 2025 theatrical release.
