Marvel Studios finally disclosed the actress who will play the role of MCU’s historic new superhero, Kahhori. Earlier this year, it was announced that one of What If…? Season 2’s upcoming episodes will be centered around a character called Kahhori, who’s a Native American warrior and a new MCU superhero.
The latest Marvel Studio Canada’s Instagram post confirmed that Devery Jacobs is going to voice Kahhori in Season 2 of the animated series What If…? It’s worth noting that similar to her character Jacobs is Mohawk, so her casting is set to bring accurate representation of the Mohawk people on the screen.
Jacobs is quite popular for her roles in Rhymes for Young Girls and Reservation Dogs. Not only this, but she also became a member of the cast of the upcoming Marvel’s Disney+ series called Echo, in which she plays the role of a character named Julie.
Will Devery Jacobs be the next face of the MCU?
Marvel has worked with many extremely popular and successful actors, such as Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, who led the Avengers and the MCU for a long time. Marvel has also created many stars of its own who weren’t as big when they signed with Marvel. A great example of this is Tom Holland, who, although was quite known before he joined the MCU, but it was his role as Spider-Man that really pushed him through the roof.
Now Marvel has laid their sights on Devery Jacobs, and signing her to play Kahhori in What If...? shows they have high hopes for her. This is especially true, seeing as she was already cast in the MCU before to play a different role. Given that she now has a complete episode in What If…?’s upcoming season and she was shown beside Thanos in one of its trailers, we can hope that Marvel has more things planned for her in the future.
