Many celebrate when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feign announced that Loki Season 2 will return to Disney+’s original Friday schedule when it premieres. However, the streamer recently changed its release schedule when it released Star Wars: Ahsoka’s two-episode premiere at an earlier time and day. Now, the big question is, will Disney+ do the same for Loki Season 2?
So far, Loki is the only Disney+ series that will get a second season, and many are now looking forward to seeing its release, thanks to the incredible hype it has built. Sure, it now has an official release date, but nothing is for sure yet until it officially drops, especially with the service’s recent schedule change.
Disney+ usually releases new episodes at 3 AM ET/ 12 AM PT. However, it made a major change when it dropped Ahsoka’s premiere episodes at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT—six hours earlier than usual. So, instead of seeing the new live-action series originally on August 23, it was moved to an earlier date of August 22.
So, is there a chance Loki Season 2 will experience the same? Well, Disney+ has yet to make an official announcement about it. But as it seems to be experimenting with the release schedules of its TV shows, it may not be far from happening.

Disney+’s Experimental Releases
This isn’t the first time that Disney+ has experimented with its release schedules. It started when it released the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi at 12 AM ET/ 9 PM PT instead of the usual 3 AM ET/ 12 AM PT. However, it was only for the premiere episode, and its next installments returned to the regular release time.
But Disney+ made a major change with Ahsoka, releasing all its episodes at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT. It remains to be seen if its next major releases, like Loki Season 2, will follow suit.

A Major Change in Loki Season 2’s Release
Feign revealed at Disney’s 2023 Upfront event that Loki Season 2 would be released on October 6, which would fall on a Friday. This is another major change in the streamer, with its usual Wednesday releases that started in Loki Season 1.
Disney+ originally debuted its major shows, such as The Mandalorian, WandaVision, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, every Friday when it launched in 2019. However, it changed its weekly releases to Wednesdays when Loki Season 1 premiered in June 2021.
Since then, the succeeding MCU titles after Loki, like Hawkeye, What If…?, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel, were released every Wednesday. Though Loki Season 2’s return to Friday release schedule is a welcoming change for fans, seeing it on an earlier day and time will be accepting, too.
