There is little doubt that the first season of Loki introduced a lot of exciting new characters, from Classic Loki to Alligator Loki who immediately became a fan-favorite. Viewers also got to meet the diminutive Thor Variant who just happens to be a frog but Throg only had a brief appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series. However, a deleted scene confirms that the Frog of Thunder almost had another appearance and was even voiced by Chris Hemsworth himself!
In the brief clip, which is believed to be from the series' Blu-ray steelbook, Tom Hiddleston's Loki faces off with the amphibious Throg, who wields Mjölnir. Loki is taken by surprise as the green creature attacks him.
It's a hilarious scene considering that Throg is voiced by the God of Thunder himself. Although the audio isn't that loud, it's clear that Chris Hemsworth lent his voice to his little Variant.
But why remove this scene from Loki Season 1 in the first place? The scene might be from when TVA forces the God of Mischief to face important people in his life. It would have set up Throg's reappearance in the latter part of the show where the frog Variant is shown trapped in a jar beneath layers of soil in the Void. Still, the deleted scene adds another layer of fun and intrigue for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Who is Throg?
In the comics, Throg is a man named Simon Walterson who was turned into an amphibian by a witch. He was later given the hammer of Thor and fought for justice as Throg. However, the MCU version of the character might simply be a frog Variant of the God of Thunder played by Hemsworth. Either way, he is an awesome addition to the MCU.
