Kai, Cole, Zane, and Jay—the fiery, earthy, icy, and lightning-charged heroes who have defended the realm of Ninjago across fourteen seasons of the beloved animated TV series—are finally breaking free of their LEGO minifigure bodies. Starting this Thursday, December 11, LEGO Fortnite will introduce the first-ever fully human Fortnite-style skins for the core ninja team, marking the most ambitious crossover yet between Epic Games and the LEGO Group.
The update drops players directly onto a massive new Ninjago island the instant they boot up LEGO Fortnite Odyssey. No starter beach, no tutorial village—Epic is throwing everyone straight into the action among towering monasteries, misty bamboo jungles, and glowing Elemental Sanctums. The developer recommends clearing inventories and storing valuables before the patch, since the new spawn system bypasses the usual safe zones.
Kai, the red-hot Master of Fire, headlines the premium LEGO Pass priced at 1,400 V-Bucks (or instantly unlocked for Fortnite Crew subscribers). Progression through the pass awards both his classic yellow-headed LEGO minifigure outfit and the brand-new human Fortnite skin, complete with flowing scarlet gi, detailed facial scarring, and flaming hair effects. Meanwhile, the rest of the original ninja trio—Cole (Master of Earth), Zane (Master of Ice), and Jay (Master of Lightning)—will hit the Item Shop on Thursday. Players can purchase them individually or grab the complete “Elemental Masters Bundle,” which packs all three humanized skins plus a full suite of matching accessories: elemental-infused back blings, reactive pickaxes, gliders shaped like spinning dragon wings, weapon wraps, and exclusive loading screens.
Combat and building are getting a full ninja makeover. New weapons include chainable nunchaku for rapid melee combos, throwable shurikens that arc through the air, and bamboo staffs perfect for vaulting across rooftops. Dozens of Asian-inspired build pieces—pagoda roofs, stone lanterns, torii gates, paper-screen walls, and glowing dojo torches—will unlock through the LEGO Pass, and every piece of XP earned anywhere in Fortnite (Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, Rocket Racing, or even LEGO Fortnite Brick Life) counts toward those tiers.
A dedicated story questline guides players to four hidden Elemental Sanctums scattered across biomes. Activating each shrine permanently grants the corresponding ninja power: Kai’s flame dash and fireball barrage, Cole’s ground-pound shockwaves, Zane’s freezing aura and ice slide, and Jay’s lightning teleport and electro-burst. These abilities persist in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey survival worlds, giving squads an arsenal of elemental tactics against storms, skeletons, and rival builders.
While the Green Ninja Lloyd and Nya, Master of Water, are sitting out this first wave, Epic has already confirmed a second Ninjago chapter arriving in 2026 that will complete the team.
With Chapter 7 launching last week alongside a new music pass, Fortnite is closing out 2025 with its final major content surge. The December 11 update delivers the last big additions of the year to Epic’s metaverse: the Lego Ninjago crossover, the return of Fortnite OG Season 7, Playboi Carti’s latest in-game activation, and the start of Winterfest—complete with the usual haul of free holiday skins and cosmetics.
