KonoSuba Season 3 Reveals New Trailer, Announces 2024 Premiere Date

KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! Season 3 released a new trailer ahead of its April 2024 premiere.

KADOKAWA has launched the first full trailer for KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! Season 3. In addition to the trailer for the upcoming season of the highly-anticipated return of one of the most popular anime shows in the world, it was also announced that the third season is scheduled to premiere in Japan in April 2024. The trailer teases the new adventures of Kazuma Satou, Aqua, and the rest of the gang.

The animation production of KonoSuba Season 3 will move from Studio DEEN to Drive, and it will be supervised by veteran KonoSuba director Takaomi Kanasaki. The anime will be directed by Yujiro Abe, who previously directed episodes of other anime such as Great Pretender and Kaguya-sama. Makokto Uezu is working on the series composition while Koichi Kikuta is in charge of the character designs, and Masato Koda composed the anime's music.

The main cast of KonoSuba will be reprising their roles in Season 3:

  • Sora Amamiya as Aqua

  • Jun Fukushima as Kazuma Sato

  • Rie Takahashi as Megumin

  • Ai Kayano as Darkness

What is KonoSuba about?

KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! anime is based on the isekai comedy light novel series  (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima, which started in 2013 and ended in 2020 with 17 volumes and two short story anthologies. The first season premiered in January 2016, and Season 2 aired in January 2017, and the KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World Legend of Crimson movie from J.C. Staff was released in 2019. During the Spring 2023 season, an adaptation of the Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spin-off from Studio Drive aired.

Yen Press, the English publisher of the light novel series, provided the following plot description for KonoSuba:

Game loving shut-in Kazuma Sato’s life as a young schoolboy in Japan abruptly comes to an early end…or at least it was supposed to. When he opens his eyes, though, he sees a beautiful goddess that offers him a once in an after-lifetime chance to be reborn in a parallel world. The catch is that the world is violent and threatened by a growing evil! Fortunately, he can choose any one thing to bring with him. So he chooses the goddess, Aqua! And so his adventure with his gorgeous companion begins–if he could just get enough money and food to survive, keep his goddess out of trouble, and avoid grabbing the attention of the Demon King’s army!
