The second season of House of the Dragon is still underway and it looks like another player has joined the Dance of the Dragons. A new report confirms that the Game of Thrones prequel has added a new dragonseed who could play an important role in the Targaryen civil war. Additionally, the casting confirms that Season 2 is not slowing down amidst the writers' and actors' strikes.

It was previously revealed that Team Green is adding a lot of major players in House of the Dragon Season 2. Back in April, it was announced that Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, and Freddie Fox will play Alys Rivers, Ser Simon Strong, and Ser Gwayne Hightower, respectively, in the second season. However, the latest casting news confirms that Team Black is also finding allies.

Redanian Intelligence has reported that Robert Rhodes has been cast as Silver Denys in House of the Dragon Season 2. Although it was not revealed how many episodes he will appear in in the show, there is a huge chance that Rhodes will portray the character immediately in the first episodes. Interestingly, the casting confirms that Team Black will be recruiting dragonseeds to their cause.

In George R.R. Martin's books, dragonseeds are people are bastards of House Targaryen and House Velaryon who are borne from the first night custom. Prince Jacaerys Velaryon is the one who decides to call on dragonseeds to mount the riderless dragons on Dragonstone. Silver Denys is one of the dragonseeds who tries to mount the infamous Sheepstealer.

We won't tell you what happens to Silver Denys but his fate is certainly unforgettable. In addition to that, there is little doubt that he won't be the only dragonseed to join House of the Dragon Season 2. With that in mind, we can't wait to get more updates on the second season.

It has already been confirmed that House of the Dragon Season 2 will continue production amidst the writers' and actors' strike. This is because the scripts have already been completed before the strikes and the actors are not under SAG-AFTRA. The second season has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on HBO sometime in 2024.
