If you plan on spending your holidays playing GTA Online, then you’re quite lucky because Rockstar Games is giving away free items in the game at least once in the next few days. In addition to what they’re giving away for free right now as part of the first round of holiday gifts, GTA fans will also be getting a look at some of the company’s GTA Online plans for New Year’s.
Many of these holiday rewards can be earned simply by logging into the game at least once this week, while others require some more effort from the player’s side in the in-game events. However, players can start earning all of these right now, except for the New Year ones, of course.
Logging in to the game is the easiest way to get your holiday gifts, and doing so once from now till December 27 will reward you with at least five items, including clothes and weapons. Rockstar Games’ announcement regarding GTA Online’s holiday freebies reads:
Celebrate the festive period in GTA Online with collectibles for every occasion: Log in to play GTA Online from December 21 through December 27 to receive the Snowball Launcher, Green Xmas Tree Hat, White Xmas Reindeer Hat, Candy Cane Weapon, and Green Reindeer Beer Hat, and more.
GTA Online’s version of The Grinch, The Grooch, has also returned as part of the latest GTA Online update. If you defeat him during an in-game event, you can become The Grooch for the holidays simply by getting the outfit. Rockstar said:
All these events will be paying out various bonuses through January 3, and rewards include the Snowman Outfit for finding and destroying all 25 Snowmen, as well as the Gooch Outfit for successfully fighting off The Gooch. Defeating the criminal masterminds at work in the Weazel Plaza Shootout will get you the WM 29 Pistol.
Does GTA Online’s Chop Shop update include free items?
GTA Online received a major new update to the game recently, which introduced many new features to the game, including new cars, buildings, and new ways to earn. It also added a lot of new cosmetic items to the game, including 150+ pieces of clothing and accessories for both male and female characters. Although the Chop Shop update did not technically add any new free items, it did add another feature for giving players freebies.
GTA Online players will now receive a free gift every year on the birthday of their in-game character. Your character’s birthday is the day that the character was created in the game, meaning the day that you signed up for GTA Online. This is a nice addition to the game and, just like real life, gives players a reason to be excited for their in-game birthday.
