Rockstar Games might not release another GTA game for the next couple of decades after the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. The GTA franchise is among some of the most famous and profitable gaming franchises to ever exist. The previous game in the Grand Theft Auto series, i.e., GTA 5 is the second best-selling game in history and even after a whole decade, it still sells plenty of copies.
Despite that, fans are still eagerly waiting for the next game in the series, and are ready to believe that a reveal might happen by the end of this month. We do hope that this particular rumor is true, but only Rockstar Games is aware of the exact date when the first GTA 6 trailer will come out.
There will be an estimated gap of 11-12 years between GTA 6 and the previous GTA game in the series, i.e., GTA 5, and a 6-7 years gap between two Rockstar video games since Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018. It has been taking a long time for the developers to create games, especially considering the high quality in which Rockstar makes them.
According to Youtuber LegacyKillaHD, Rockstar Games employees don’t expect to be there at the time of the next GTA game’s release. The developers might create another Red Dead Redemption game or move over to another franchise which can take a lot of time and then the next Grand Theft Auto game, which would take a much longer time, realistically speaking.
This news is pretty sad to hear, but that does not mean that the GTA series will completely disappear from the scene. GTA 5 continues to remain quite popular among fans even after a decade owing to its GTA Online mode. There’s a high chance that Rockstar is going to have an efficient and epic online mode for the upcoming game to ensure that it keeps the fans hooked for many more years to come.
Many rumors and speculations also suggest that GTA 6 might expand it in various ways to make it a lot more significant as compared to its predecessor. Like always, the developers haven’t officially confirmed this news so it remains to be seen if this turns out to be true or not, but there’s no harm in hoping.
