Once the devs announced GTA 6 last year, they went on a complete blackout and refused to reveal any information regarding the game. This meant that players had no other option but to rely on leaks and rumors, with 90 early development videos leaking last year. The leaks gave us a look at GTA 6’s gameplay features and mechanics.
Thus began the influx of plenty of leaks and rumors, with some giving us a look at the game’s potential map, release date, and much more. However, a few weeks ago, Rockstar Games finally revealed that GTA 6 will receive a reveal trailer in early December, exciting many players. Now, the potential pre-order details for the upcoming much-anticipated game have leaked online, giving us an idea of when we can pre-order it online.
The latest leak shows a conversation that took place between a GTA fan and the British retailer, Argos, who claimed that pre-orders for GTA 6 would open on December 12. The agent said, “I have been informed the software Grand Theft Auto VI for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will be available to pre-order on December 12, 2023, confirmed to us by the distributors."
However, when Rockstar Universe, a popular website for everything Rockstar Games-related, went to confirm this news from Argos Support, the agent simply said that GTA 6 will be “available for pre-booking” once the game’s release date is officially disclosed. There’s no way of confirming this leak, but since it hasn’t been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games, it shouldn’t be taken seriously.
When can players expect GTA 6 to launch?
GTAForums recently conducted a poll about when GTA 6 might come out and many people randomly guessed the date. However, a reputable Rockstar insider Tez2 revealed some crucial details about the game’s release date, claiming that “several devs” expect GTA 6 to launch in Spring 2025.
However, they further stated that the same timeline was also kept for some other Rockstar titles, including GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption, both of which were delayed to a later date. Rockstar Universe has also claimed that the company is aiming to release the game in 2025. A Reddit user also suggested that the highly anticipated game won’t reportedly launch in 2024, suggesting a 2025 release date.
