Grand Theft Auto follows the story of a criminal who wanted to make it big in the criminal underworld and the game is all about driving and shooting. This is a staple in the game which many players love considering the engaging nature of these kinds of genres. However, it was rumored that GTA 6 will be having a child protagonist and this did not sit well with the fans of the game, thus, the internet blew up with enraged fans.
It has been years since Rockstar Games released a game in the franchise and finally, after a decade, GTA 6 trailer is finally coming out in early December. However, while there is an excitement on the upcoming game, there are some fans that are enraged because of one thing: there might be a child protagonist in the game. This child was rumored to take part of the game as leaked by @GTAVI_Countdown on X (formerly Twitter) saying that Lucia, the alleged main character, would have a child in the storyline cutscenes which will be the first time a child will be featured in the game series.
It has been long speculated that the main characters of GTA 6 would be reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde who would be called as Jason and Lucia. Lucia will reportedly be a Latina female protagonist in the game and it was speculated that she has a child in the narrative's cutscenes. How will a child character fit into GTA 6?
As speculated, the child character in GTA 6 might be featured through the cutscenes with the child's mother, Lucia, who is one of the main protagonists of the game. Given that Lucia is the first character that players could choose to be their character, the rumored child character could tap into the emotional plotline of the GTA 6 narrative. Still, there's no better way to confirm the rumored GTA 6 child unless it is from Rockstar Games.
There could be implications when putting a child in the game: first, there is the psychological factor that when kids see the game and that there is a kid in there, the child could think that kids are allowed to play the game when it involves violence as they could put on the defense that there is a child character in the game. Second, the game is gruesome and brutal, and those are not something worth emulating. Lastly, GTA 6 might hit a sensitive topic connected to children facing conflicts with violence and crimes.
