The X-Men are coming to Disney+. During San Diego Comic-Con 2023, Marvel shared a clip from the upcoming X-Men '97 revival that will air on the streamer. The footage confirms that the animated series is serious about bringing nostalgia to longtime fans.
We already know that X-Men '97 is getting a long-delayed sequel. Although it was announced back in 2021, it wasn't until this year that fans finally got to see what will happen in the series.
Several clips from X-Men '97 were shared during the Designing the X-Men panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. In one of the clips, it is confirmed that Jean Grey is pregnant as she helps her team interrogate the villainous Dr. Trask. In addition to that, Cyclops gets to say the iconic line, "To me, my X-Men."
We're loving the idea of more X-Men '97 episodes coming in the future and it's great to finally get some updates on the show's upcoming debut on Disney+. It's also exciting to know that Archangel and Bishop will become members of the team in the series. Needless to say, we're hoping that the clips will be officially released.
For now, we're waiting for the footage to be released online. In the meantime, there are speculations that the X-Men's live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was teased in the fourth episode of Secret Invasion.
In Secret Invasion Episode 4, we got a glimpse at Priscilla Fury's book Decoding the Superhuman Gene which appears to be about finding the X-gene that causes mutants to develop superhuman abilities at a certain age. It's an interesting connection considering that fans are already hyped up about the mutants joining the MCU.
X-Men '97 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.. Remember to check this page for updates on this story.
