Daredevil: Born Again is officially back in production after Marvel Studios made major changes behind the scenes. The studio fired the show's directors and writers towards the end of 2023 in order to make big changes to the reboot as the Disney+ series was originally set to be in a different timeline from Netflix's Daredevil show. Since the Defender-verse was added to the main MCU timeline, fans have been wondering if they will stick to the original plan.
According to recent rumors, Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll would be reprising their roles as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. Now, it looks like the two will be returning as several set photos and videos on social media revealed the two actors are filming for Daredevil: Born Again. One of the set photos revealed a "Nelson, Murdock & Page" sign, which shows that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) won't be doing his day job alone. You can check out the photo below:
There are also behind-the-scenes videos that confirm that their characters will return in the MCU. According to a previous report by insider Daniel Richtman, Woll will only be appearing in three episodes of the series, and it's still unclear how many episodes Foggy will be in.
Is Netflix's Daredevil part of the MCU?
During a recent interview with Screen Rant, MCU executive producer Brad Winderbaum was asked if Netflix's Daredevil series is canon to the franchise, and how it may or may not factor into Marvel's Echo when it comes to being canon to the sacred timeline. Winderbaum considers Netflix's Daredevil part of the MCU's central timeline, saying:
I can say that up until this point, we've been a little bit cagey about what's Sacred Timeline, what's not Sacred Timeline. That was born of, frankly, a period at the studio where we were like, 'We have to stick the landing with the vendors.' It was another part of the company developing the Netflix stuff. We were aware of what they were doing, they were aware of what we were doing, but there was a lot to balance anyway.
But now that some time has passed; now that we see actually how well integrated the stories are, I think that I personally, Brad Winderbaum, would be confident in saying [Daredevil] is part of the Sacred Timeline.
Who are the cast of Daredevil: Born Again?
One of the actors joining Charlie Cox as the titular hero in Daredevil: Born Again is Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Both actors return to Marvel Studios' Echo earlier this month. Other than Woll and Henson, Jon Bernthal is confirmed to return as Frank Castle/The Punisher in the upcoming series. Comicbook.com also reported that Wilson Bethel will reprise his villainous role of Benjamin Poindexter a.k.a. Bullseye.
