Who would have thought being a virgin could turn a man into a wizard? Nobody, of course, but that’s what fans are about to witness in the new upcoming anime, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard? And to give viewers more details about this story, it has dropped an official teaser, cast members, and release window.
Based on the Japanese manga series of the same name by Yuu Toyota, this is a boys’ love (BL) series that follows the story of Kiyoshi Adachi and Yuichi Kurosawa. Starting in 2018 on Gangan Pixiv, it was adapted into a live-action TV drama in 2020 and became a part of TV Tokyo’s MokuDra 25 programming block. Due to its high ratings, a live-action film followed. Satelite then adapted the series into an anime, which will soon be out.
The anime’s official website has dropped several major details about Cherry Magic!, starting with a new teaser. It begins with Adachi’s confession that he has remained a virgin until he reaches the age of 30, which eventually lets him use magic. Through his hands, he can know what other people think when he touches them.
As he continuously contemplates life, his handsome workmate, Kurosawa, shows up. With his good looks, Kiyoshi says he can effortlessly go crazy about him multiple times. As they get a chance to be close to each other, Adachi can’t help but appreciate his handsomeness, revealing he really likes him. But when he gets the opportunity to touch him, he surprisingly learns that Kurosawa wants him, too.
Who are the cast members of Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?
Cherry Magic! will be led by Chiaki Kobayashi as Adachi and Royta Suzuki as Kurosawa. It also sees Hajime Sato as Wataya as Minato and Makota Furukawa as Masato Tsuge. So far, these are only the announced cast members for the series.
For people behind the scenes, it will be directed by Yoshiko Okuda, with Takahiro Kishida on character design, Tomoko Konparu on series composition, Yoko Furumiya on art setting, and Goji Sato as the art director. It also includes Kumiko Nakayama in color design, Jun Kubota as director of photography, Ryoko Kaneshige in editing, Yuko Miyamura as the sound director, Kenji Koyama in sound effects, and Tomoki Hasegawa in music.

Cherry Magic! tells the story of Adachi, who has become a wizard after remaining a virgin until he reaches 30. His magic lets him read the minds of the people he touches. As he feels overwhelmed by his magical ability, he accidentally reads the mind of his handsome colleague, Kurosawa, who is also the lead of their department. Adachi learns that Kurosawa loves him “200%,” starting a love comedy between the two that fans need to see.

Cherry Magic! is scheduled for release in January 2024. So far, Satelite has yet to reveal when the new anime will officially be out. But with its cute BL story, far different from what fans usually see today, this one will be worth trying.
