Boruto: Two Blue Vortex just released its latest manga chapter by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto and illustrator Mikio Ikemoto earlier this week, and it revealed a surprising truth to Eida's powerful Shinjitsu Omnipotence ability that completely altered the memories of almost everyone in the ninja world, turning Boruto Uzumaki into a vigilante while Kawaki has taken his place in the Hidden Leaf Village as Naruto's son and making people believe that Naruto was killed.
The seventh chapter of the monthly manga series is titled The Whereabouts of the Sun, and it focuses on the action-packed fight between Boruto and Mitsuki. Boruto's former best friend sees him as an enemy now, thanks to the memory-changing effect of Eida's omniscience. He calls Boruto the "root of the problem" and he was able to showcase his sword-fighting skills against Mitsuki's snake clones. While Mitsuki calls Boruto a "grudge-bearing traitor", the true son of Naruto tells him that he knows the current whereabouts of "his sun".
"I'm your sun," Boruto tells him, and as Mitsuki unleashes a snake to constrict Boruto, it appears that the snake refuses to attack him, and Boruto tells him that Kawaki is not his sun, and that no matter how close he sticks to him, he refuses to illuminate him. Mitsuki ends up withdrawing the snake, freeing Boruto as he asks him who he is. Boruto assures that he has no intention of killing Kawaki, and tells him that Naruto and Hinata are alive and safe, but decides not to reveal anything more. Before leaving, Boruto tells him that if he insists "on needing a sun" to come and find him.

While most of the chapter highlighted Boruto and Mitsuki's quick fight and poetic dialogue, the most interesting information the seventh chapter revealed comes during Boruto's telepathic conversation with Konoha's current Hokage, Shikimaru, via Ino's mind-linking ability. Shikimaru questions Boruto about Eida's Omnipotence ability, and Boruto tells him not to bother trying to figure out how it works because he'll soon forget it anyway.
He tells Shikimaru that this is not the first time he heard about how's Eida's power rewrote almost everyone's memories to reflect Kawaki's desires as Sarada and "class rep" told him many times. "The very concept of Omnipotence won't stick to your memory ever," Boruto explains. "It fades over time. That's part of its power."
Because of this effect, Boruto asks Shikimaru to trust that he and Kawaki switched places without any proof. When Shikimaru asks how they could reverse the memory-altering power of Eida's Omnipotence, Boruto says that they can't. Shikimaru then asks him to keep playing the role of a fugitive as the effect of the Omnipotence lies on Kawaki, as to not expose what he did quite yet.
