Two of Netflix's popular martial arts anime shows, Baki Hanma and Kengan Ashura, will cross-over in a new project, and fans of both shonen titles are excited to see how their respective protagonists, Baki Hanma and Tokita "Ashura" Ohma, will fight in the underground arena. The crossover anime movie is called Baki Hama VS Kengan Ashura, and Netflix has released a trailer and visual for it.
The trailer reveals the extreme fights that we can expect in the crossover event. Besides Hanma and Ohma, the film will feature Saw Paing Yoroizuka vs Kaoru Hanyama, and Raian Kure vs Jack Hammer. The theme song of Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura is titled Fly High by Atarashi Gakko. Watch the action-packed trailer for the anime movie below:
Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura is set to release on Netlfix worldwide on June 6. Nobunaga Shimazaki, who voiced Baki Hanma in the Baki Hanma anime, will be returning in the movie. Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who voiced Tokita Ohma in Kengan Ashura, will also return. The crossover anime film was officially announced at this year's Anime Japan 2024 event. What is Baki Hanma about?
Baki Hanma is based on the original manga of the same title by Keisuke Itagaki. The series ran from 1991 to 1999 in the Weekly Shonen Champion and consisted of 42 volumes. 3 sequel manga series ran in the same magazine, and their titles are Baki, Baki Hanma, and Baki-Dou. The fifth series, also titled Baki-Dou (romanized differently), began in October 2018 and an anime adaptation was recently confirmed for it.
Double Eagle and TMS Entertainment animated the latest anime reboot, which started in 2018, and. it ran for a total of 26 episodes. The anime was followed by Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga, which premiered in Spring 2020. The third installment of the reboot, Baki Hanma (also known as Baki: Son of Ogre), and Baki Hanma Season 2 picked up right after Season 1 of the anime.

What is Kengan Ashura about?
The Kengan Ashura anime is based on the manga of the same title written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. The series was serialized on Shogakukan's Ura Sunday website from April 2012 to August 2018, with its chapters collected into 27 volumes. A sequel, titled Kengan Omega from the same creators, started in January 2019 and it's still ongoing.
LARX Entertainment produced Kengan Ashura Seaosn 1, and Netflix released 24 episodes (split into two 12-episode parts) in 2019. The first part of Kengan Ashura Season 2 was released in September 2023, and Part 2 is set to release in August 2024.

Kazuo Yamashita is an ordinary fifty-six year old man who one day is summoned by the chairman of his company and hired as a manager of a gladiator. Both men join the "Kengan Zetsumei Tournament" with the hope of winning the spot as chairman of the Kengan Organization.
